Meditation in the UK

Mother Meera - UK and Ireland, August 2024

We are delighted to announce that, for the first time since the pandemic, Mother Meera will return to the UK and Ireland to give in-person meditations in London, Birmingham and Dublin.

Note that these are not Darshan sessions where each person goes in front of Mother individually. Instead the whole group is seated and meditates in silence together, with Mother. At the beginning and end Mother scans around the room to look at everyone seated there. Here is Mother's answer to a question which may help to explain further:

Question: What is the difference between meditation online and meditation in person with you? Should I sit at home to watch meditation or come and sit in person with you?

Mother Meera: There is a lot of difference between sitting at home watching meditation and coming to group meditation with me. They feel different—we cannot compare them. When you are thinking about coming here, your concentration is already preparing for meditation. By the time you arrive, you are focused on the Divine. When you come into the meditation hall, you will notice a difference. The silence is alive. When meditation begins, I look directly at each person in the hall. When you sit in the hall with me, you can merge with the Divine, with your Guru. You can sink deeply into the silence, into the light, into the love.

Please read all of the sections below that are relevant to you. However, if you have used the booking system before and know what you are doing then you can CLICK HERE to go straight to the login / booking page on mothermeera.com.

  • We have special arrangements for children under 16, so please contact us now, to let us know that you will be bringing a child / children. When you contact us please give your name and your child’s / children’s name(s) as they appear on your reservation.
  • In addition, when you make your reservation and add your child/children as attendees (nb: each child must have his/her own reservation) please be sure to click the “Child” tick box and enter their date of birth (where it says “birthday”). • Note that all parents with children assemble, together with their children, near the stage at the front of the hall, before Mother enters the hall (nb: only one parent is allowed to accompany their children). A carpeted area is provided and they can either kneel or sit on it. Once the meditation has started they and their parents will be guided out of the hall by a children’s volunteer, a few minutes after Mother has closed her eyes. As we cannot look after your children you may not leave them to go back into the hall. There is however a children’s room where you can go. The children’s volunteer will explain everything to you when you arrive.
  • If you are a parent with a disability and will be bringing children please contact us in advance to let us know.
Notes
  • Each person may only attend ONE meditation on any given day. If you wish and are able to travel between venues you may attend more than one meditation.
  • Mother will not be visiting other cities in the UK or Ireland during this visit and currently there are no plans for her to do so in 2024. If you want her to visit your city then the advice we always give is to write to her and ask. There are no guarantees but if there is sufficient interest then she may decide to come.
